Earth Day

While I think we do our part by recycling, not littering, turning lights off, etc, I do not consider myself a big environmentalist. I can though, with confidence say that Arthur is definitely more green and this year for Earth day we did something new! Sunoco was sponsering an Earth Day tree planting event at westminister ponds and Gracie had so much fun. Along with planting the tree, there was a bird of prey show, clowns, face painting, a scavenger hunt and exhibitions educating the crowd on being more "eco friendly". Heck, we even left with 4 new energy efficient light bulbs! lol!!! A-Channel News was also there and my little tv star made it on the news! It was only for about 2 seconds but she sure looked cute for those 2 seconds! Here's the link: http://www.achannel.ca/london/news_56146.aspx
And here are some cute pics of our day:

Procrastinater = Me

Sooooo......you may have noticed that I started a blog in mid April. Exam time, lol. I am the master of procrastinating. I seriously do not know who could be worse!!! Tomorrow night I have an English exam that I need to be studying for. I've already done some studying earlier today and over the weekend but each and every time it takes me FOREVER to actually get started. I check my email approximately a thousand times, then I get a snack, then I check out Babycenter, Facebook and the worst of all Fantastic Feb 05 Mommies Invision Forum. I could seriously spend HOURS on that board catching up on gossip, swapping stories and generally just chatting it up with ladies that I seriously consider my best friends. I've known most of them for over 3 yrs as we shared our pregnancies and one at a time the births of our Feb 05 children. I share my most intimate thoughts and stories with them. With looming exams, I decided to take a break from the board and it has been nearly 2 weeks since I've logged on as Lisa G and I miss them all so much!! It really has freed up a lot of studying time but I feel like I'm missing out and I can't wait until the next 2 weeks is over and done with so I can go back and catch up. Ladies, if you're reading this thank you so much for your text messages, IM's and emails!!! I miss you!!!

NOW.......back to the books....hmmmm, maybe I should check my email and get a snack first ;)

Ballet!

So, my big girl started ballet lessons on Tuesday and she did surprisingly well!! Gracie's temperament is very slow to warm and is not inclined to participate in anything new without holding Mommy's hand but this was different! She jumped right in without my help and stayed in the whole class by herself. It almost makes me tear up just thinkng about how fast she's growing! I seriously can not believe that it has been more than 3 yrs since I held her in my arms for the first time. My little princess then: (2 days old)

And Now (3 yrs 2 months), Right Before going to Ballet class!

Grace's Story- and a little vent HA!

This is my little girl! Born Feb 16th, 2005. She is the light of my life and I absolutely adore her. When I first found out that I was pregnant with her I was terrified. I was halfway through college at Fanshawe and hadn't been with her father for very long. Mason (her bio father) were on the verge of break up as it was and being pregnant I felt the pressure to stay with him. Four months into my pregnancy I chose to be happy and ended the relationship with high hopes that we would still be able to work together and parent this sweet little girl. I have found out over time that he is not ready to be a father. It started when he stopped paying child support in July of 2006 and hasn't since then, with no court order he continued to visit Gracie as I would not be the one who stands inbetween them. Then Mason began to show up later and leave earlier for his visits sometimes without showing up at all. Visits became more spread out and he sometimes goes weeks and even months without contact. As of right now it has been a month and a half since he has pursued any contact with his daughter. At this point I wish that he would just fade away so he will stop playing with Grace's emotions and confusing her. I fear what I will say to him when he comes out of the dark and acts like he hasn't done anything wrong. *SIGH*. Despite his irregularity and non-devotion, Gracie has turned into a brilliant, beautiful, HAPPY child. She is loved by everyone who knows her and is a very well-adjusted child. She is surrounded by the love of her Mima, Papa, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Dan and her best buddy Arthur whom she attaches with more and more each day. I am confident in her future as a successful woman due to her amazing role models. Without further adieu, here are some recent pics of my little sweetheart!!

New at This!

Yikes! So, here I am starting a blog. Didn't think it would ever happen but I always enjoy reading my friends blogs so I thought I'd finally jump on the bandwagon and give this thing a try. What to say???? I'm Lisa, I'm 25 yrs old living at home with my parents in London, Ontario. I have a BEAUTIFUL daughter Gracie who just turned 3 in February and is one of the two loves of my life. The other is my wonderful boyfriend, Arthur. The 3 of us together make an amazing little family and we can't wait to start out our new life together in our new house which we move into on May 21st. Next month!!!! All of this was made possible by Arthur, as obviously I don't have much money to my name being a University student/single Mom/part time worker. His whole life is going to change and he's being so amazing about it! Anyways, I think that's it for right now...I'll save more for later as I have to get to class. Thanks to whoever reads this! :)
